Beginning Friday, University Health Services will provide the COVID-19 vaccine to every member of the kent state deweese health center immunization records​ University community.

The university informed staff, teachers, and students via email on Wednesday that, subject to vaccine availability, health services will provide vaccinations at the DeWeese Health Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

It is up to the beneficiaries to decide which of the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines they want to get. The receiver must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for either brand. In contrast to the Moderna shot, which needs a second dose every 28 days, the Johnson & Johnson shot only needs one dose.  

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine delay was recently lifted by the federal authorities. The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded that the Johnson & Johnson shot’s possible advantages exceed its known and possible risks after conducting more research and analysis on the vaccine’s adverse effects. 

DeWeese is offering free vaccinations to all university employees, faculty, staff, wives, and dependents.  

Although the regional campuses do not offer immunizations, anyone from the College of Podiatric Medicine or a regional campus can make an appointment at DeWeese.
